AAbsurd of the Day

FAQ

Is this real?

Not yet. The site is in preview: bidding is for practice, no money is charged and the current lot is a sample that is not for sale.

What is Absurd of the Day?

One ridiculous, made-to-order object a day, with a story. It runs for 24 hours with public bids, and the winner gets the only one that will ever exist.

When do lots drop?

A teaser goes out at 9:00 PM ET the night before. The lot goes live at 12:00 PM ET and closes at 12:00 PM ET the next day.

What is the soft close?

Any bid in the last 2 minutes adds 2 minutes to the clock. There is no point sniping; you just start a bidding war.

What does "reserve met" mean?

Each lot has a private minimum price. We only show whether bids have reached it. If they have not by the close, the lot does not sell.

What is a max bid?

Optional. Tell us the most you would pay and we bid for you, one increment at a time, only as much as needed to keep you on top. Nobody sees your max.

Does it cost anything to bid?

No. Bidding is always free. Only the winner pays, and right now nobody pays.

Why is my handle not verified?

During the preview anyone can type any handle. Please use your own. We remove impersonation.

Can I return a lot?

Lots are custom-made, so sales are final. If your item is defective or never arrives, you get a full refund. See the terms.

Is this an investment?

No. It is an art object and a joke. There is no promised resale value.
